Ms. Laquasia Wilkins

"I am allowed to dream, and I will become whoever I envision!" I encourage students to speak their dreams into existence by ending each class with students firmly stating this sentence.

As an English instructor, I enable students to become strong readers and writers. Students learn how to critically analyze texts as well as how to respond to readings through academic writing. These skills propel student's readiness to achieve both high school and college level success.

In addition, I use student's remarks about their future endeavors in order to relate classroom activities to their goals. I strive to show students that English is more than classwork--the subject provides necessary skills for all future accomplishments.
