Early College Placement Exam on April 25th

The Early College Entrance Exam will take place on Tuesday, April 25th for students who meet the Early College eligibility requirements (minimum of 2.5 GPA and 90% attendance). If students pass the exam and meet eligibility requirements, they will be able to take courses at Richard J. Daley College in Fall 2017. As a reminder, the COMPASS exam is no longer being used as the placement test for the Early College Program. Please see details below about the NEW placement exams:

Read to Write Placement Exam (English Eligibility)

Time: Approximately 90 minutes (2.5 hours max)

Students will respond to brief questions to help us better understand your academic, demographic, and personal background. The test will consist of the following components

  • You will be provided with a short passage to read.
  • Based on this passage, you will answer five reading comprehension questions.
  • Next, you will write an essay in response to this passage.
  • Finally, based on the provided course descriptions, you will write a short paragraph explaining the English course you believe is a good fit for you.

ALEKS Math Exam (MathEligibility)

Time: Approximately 90 minutes (no time limit)

The ALEKS Placement Assessment covers material from Basic Math through Pre-Calculus and will take approximately 90 minutes to complete. After the assessment, a targeted Prep and Learning Module is available for you to review and learn material, and to improve placement and eventual course outcomes.

In order to access the Prep and Learning Module, students will have to create an account at my.ccc.edu.
