Dear SEG Parents,

Equity, Access, and Safety are our most critical priorities as we forge ahead in preparation for reopening the building,  We would like to thank you all for the preliminary feedback and suggestions that you have provided and we will continue to engage in conversations over the next few weeks to ensure that all considerations are heard and the necessary precautions are taken to protect the welfare of our entire school community.  We will be hosting a Returning Student & Parent meeting on April 12th via Google Meets beginning at 5:00 pm.  The meeting information is as follows:

While many details are still being refined, below are some of the key updates that we have thus far:

Sign up for returning has concluded & 27% (232) of our students will be returning to the building for in-person learning. 83 Freshmen, 72 Sophomores, 47 Juniors, 27 Seniors

Students will follow their normal schedules upon return utilizing the Model 1 format outlined in the table below.  Schedules will only be modified if a teacher is on a CPS-approved leave or teleworking.

Students may attend school up to four days a week due to small school size (<250 students) and an under-utilized enrollment center and where the average class size is 20 or lower.

Students will not be podded. They will have different students in each class period. 

Classroom setups will be socially distant to accommodate a maximum of 16 students. 

  • Most will be significantly smaller 
  • Classroom seating will be marked to indicate availability

All students IDs have been updated to include QR codes to complete the health screeners in advance of arrivals

Students must bring their assigned Chromebook daily and will be provided with an SEG Chromebook case carrier bag to ensure safe handling.

  • If a student has not been issued a Chromebook we will provide one. 

Only Bottle Filling stations are open. Students are permitted to bring their own empty water bottles or sealed beverages into the building. 

Wednesdays will be Remote for all students. The format of the day has not been determined.
