Optional Student Testing for COVID-19

Chicago Public Schools will be offering COVID-19 testing opportunities for students as part of our strategy to safely reopen schools. COVID-19 testing is an important step in protecting our students and school communities.
The testing program consists of a nose swab test for the detection of COVID-19. Test results will be available within 48–72 hours. Private information related to test results will remain confidential and both positive and negative results will be shared to the parent via email. Positive test results will be used to notify school communities for the purpose of maintaining a safe school environment through CPS contact tracing efforts.
How can my student opt-in?
For your student to receive a COVID-19 test, you must sign a student consent form. Your school will work with you on the process for completing this form.
On-site testing will take place weekly and individual students who opt-in can expect to be tested approximately once a month.
