What does it mean to love our teachers out loud? Is it telling them about how they have impacted us for the better? Commending them for their hard work, resilience, and commitment? Finding ways to show them how much we care?

At CPS, we believe loving our teachers out loud means all of the above—and more! Our teachers consistently go above and beyond to meet the needs of each and every one of their students. Over the past year, their creativity and tenacity to adapt to ever-changing and unpredictable circumstances has been nothing short of incredible. They have used their experience and passion to bring the joy of teaching and learning into homes all across the city.

We’re so excited that many of them finally had the opportunity to begin teaching many of their students in their classrooms earlier this year, and we hope that more and more of them get that opportunity before the end of the school year.

Teachers, thank you for teaching all of us how to be flexible when our jobs and lives are turned upside down. Thank you for teaching us how to be patient when things don’t go according to plan. Thank you for teaching us all a lot about technology this year. Thank you for teaching us that you can always learn something new. Thank you for everything.

Teacher Appreciation Week is May 3-7, and we are so excited to celebrate our teachers. The digital media toolkit below is only one of the ways you can help celebrate; it has graphics, avatars, and other ideas on how to celebrate on social media. Use #ThankATeacher and tag us at @ChiPubSchools so we can share your appreciation for our world-class teachers.

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!
